PSCo provided the world’s largest plasma, the 152” from Panasonic, for ITN to create a digital backdrop for the Newsroom’s Got Talent charity event which took place on 2nd November at London's IndigO2.

The event was compered by Carol Vorderman and Brian Conley and saw celebrity newsreaders, including ITV News at Ten presenter Mark Austin, and Jon Snow and Krishnan Guru-Murthy from Channel 4 News take to the stage, showing off their vocal talents and dance moves. A celebrity judging panel consisting of Arlene Phillips, Christopher Biggins and Anton du Beke scored each of the performances and ITV London Tonight was crowned the newsroom with the most talent.

The event also featured a silent auction with prizes ranging from designer jewellery to luxury holidays, with the whole evening raising money for two charities, Leonard Cheshire Disability and Beating Bowel Cancer. The screen was used to show video montages of the newsrooms  during rehearsals, messages from celebrity supporters, appeal videos from the two charities and live close ups of the performers on stage. The screen’s impressive 4K by 2K resolution ensured that the audience didn’t miss a second of the action, even those at the back of the venue.

The screen was provided on PSCo’s unique ‘Screenlifter’, a lifting device that enabling the screen to be wheeled into position and raised to a preferred height making it easy to transport and display once in location. PSCo is the only UK rental company to have the 152” Panasonic Plasma as part of its rental fleet, making it available to organisers for a fraction of the price that it would be to purchase.

Stuart Holmes, PSCo’s CEO said: “We are honoured to have been part of such a prestigious event and help such well deserving charities raise money. This is one of the first times this exciting screen has been used at a live event and it is great to see organisers taking full advantage of its high resolution and stunning Full HD images.”
